Why Coal?

Anthracite Coal is one of the most economical sources for alternative heating. It burns at the highest level of BTUs of all fossil fuels (25 million BTUs per ton). With its low sulfur content and virtually no smoke it burns cleaner than other fossil fuels. Anthracite also has no soot or creosote therefore making it safer than traditional wood burning. The risk of chimney fires is virtually eliminated. With more BTUs and longer burn times, anthracite coal is a great choice for alternative heating.
